Several state curriculum standards concentrate on Tennessee history and geography. This project has been created to help prepare 8th grade students for the Tennessee portion of the TCAP social studies test.




Congratulations! You've just been chosen as a contestant on The Amazing Tennessee Race! Your journey will take you across the entire state, from end to end, with two amazing features it requires absolutely no gasoline and you will time travel! That's right! With the aid of books, newspapers, magazines, and the World Wide Web, you will be able to travel from Memphis to Kingsport and from the year 1540 to the present, without ever leaving your hometown. As you race through Tennessee history and geography, your objective will be to acquire as much knowledge about Tennessee as you possibly can, thus allowing you to cross the finish line verifying your status as an exemplary Tennessee citizen and volunteer.
